05. Teacher Rights and Responsibilities

5.1 Professional Standards and Instructional Duties #

SpanishVIP teachers are required to uphold high professional and pedagogical standards in every session.

Teachers are expected to:

  • Begin and end classes on time
  • Prepare lessons in accordance with SpanishVIP curriculum guidelines
  • Deliver structured, engaging, and level-appropriate instruction
  • Foster a respectful, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
  • Provide corrections and feedback in a constructive and professional manner
  • Maintain clear and appropriate communication

Teachers must keep their cameras on during live sessions unless prevented by an unforeseen technical issue. In such cases, the teacher must notify the student immediately and resolve the issue promptly. Recurrent technical issues must be reported to the Student Success Team.

Class recordings may only occur for internal training, quality control, or marketing purposes, and only with prior notice and explicit written consent from the student.

SpanishVIP reserves the right to replace or remove a teacher in cases of misconduct, repeated performance concerns, policy violations, or operational necessity.

5.2 Class Cancellations, Absences, and Replacements #

Teachers are required to notify both the student and the Student Success Team as early as possible if a cancellation becomes necessary.

In Private Tutoring:

  • The canceled lesson must be properly rescheduled within the student’s active subscription period.
  • All rescheduling must comply with internal scheduling policies.

In Group Classes:

  • Due to the public-calendar format, short individual teacher absences may not always result in direct replacement.
  • In cases of extended absence (such as medical leave or official vacation), SpanishVIP will either assign a temporary replacement or evaluate an extension, depending on operational feasibility and demand.

Teachers do not have authority to independently modify subscription terms, pause accounts, extend validity, alter pricing, or make refund commitments.

All structural or contractual changes must be managed exclusively by the Student Success Team.

If a teacher discontinues their collaboration with SpanishVIP, students will be notified and reassigned in order to ensure continuity of learning.

5.3 Confidentiality, Boundaries, and Communication Protocol #

Teachers are required to protect the confidentiality and privacy of all students.

Teachers are strictly prohibited from:

  • Sharing personal student information
  • Taking screenshots or recordings without authorization
  • Sharing class content outside official channels
  • Using student data for personal or external purposes

All communication with students must occur through official SpanishVIP channels.

Teachers may not:

  • Conduct private lessons outside the platform
  • Offer alternative payment arrangements
  • Exchange personal contact details for non-academic purposes
  • Enter into personal, financial, or romantic relationships with students

Any attempt to bypass SpanishVIP’s structure or establish direct independent agreements with students constitutes a serious breach of policy.

Teachers must maintain professional boundaries at all times and avoid engaging in personal, sensitive, or inappropriate discussions.

If a student wishes to offer a gift, bonus, or gratuity to a teacher, this must be coordinated through support@spanishvip.com. Teachers may not directly request or accept off-platform compensation.

Violation of these policies may result in immediate termination of collaboration.
