06. Level Placement & Progression

6.1 Initial Level Placement #

All new Group Class students are required to complete a placement assessment prior to joining regular sessions.

Placement results are used to determine the most appropriate starting level within the SpanishVIP Group Class structure (A0, A1, A2, B1, or B2).

Students are expected to enroll in sessions corresponding to their assigned level. Joining classes significantly above or below one’s proficiency may negatively affect both the individual learning experience and overall group dynamics.

SpanishVIP reserves the right to recommend or require level adjustments when necessary to preserve academic balance and instructional quality.

6.2 Level Advancement #

Level progression in Group Classes is determined by instructor evaluation.

Teachers continuously assess:

  • Participation
  • Comprehension
  • Speaking ability
  • Accuracy and fluency
  • Overall readiness for the next level

Advancement is granted when the instructor determines that the student has demonstrated sufficient proficiency to succeed in the next level.

Students may not independently upgrade themselves without instructor approval.

Instructors may recommend a level change when they determine that a student would benefit from a different level placement. Such recommendations are made to support academic progression and preserve the quality of the group learning environment.

6.3 Estimated Progress Timeline #

While individual progress varies, many students may remain within a single level for approximately three (3) to five (5) months before advancing. This timeframe is an estimate based on general experience and does not constitute a guarantee.

Progress depends on multiple factors, including:

  • Attendance consistency
  • Active participation
  • Independent practice
  • Individual learning pace

SpanishVIP does not guarantee advancement within a specific timeframe.

6.4 Reviewing Previous Levels #

Students may, at their discretion, attend sessions from a previously completed level for review purposes.

Reviewing prior levels is permitted when done constructively and does not interfere with group balance.

However, progression to a higher level requires instructor approval and may not be bypassed solely for personal preference.

6.5 Certificates & Academic Representation #

Certificates issued by SpanishVIP confirm participation in Group Classes during the subscription period.

Certificates do not:

  • Certify official CEFR proficiency
  • Guarantee a specific language level
  • Replace standardized examinations

Academic outcomes depend on individual effort and engagement.
