SpanishVIP observes major United States federal holidays as well as a select few Colombian national holidays, as the majority of our teaching team is based in Colombia.

These holidays are recognized company-wide and apply to teachers, administrative staff, and the Support Team.

An official holiday calendar is published and updated at the beginning of each year.

9.1 Holiday Schedule and Class Operations #

During official holidays, both Private Classes and Group Classes are not held.

These dates are part of SpanishVIP’s standard operational calendar and:

• Do not qualify for subscription extensions
• Do not generate service credits
• Do not guarantee rescheduling

For Private Classes, teachers are not required to reschedule or make up sessions that fall on official holidays.

If a student believes they have special circumstances requiring consideration, they may submit a request to support@spanishvip.com. Each case will be reviewed individually, and any exception granted remains at the sole discretion of SpanishVIP.

For Group Classes, sessions are not conducted on official holidays. However, holiday-themed classes may be offered during the same week to promote cultural enrichment and maintain learning continuity.

9.2 Support Availability on Holidays #

The Support Team does not operate on official holidays recognized under either the United States or Colombian calendar.

Support requests submitted during these dates will be addressed on the next business day.

9.3 Official Holidays – Current Year #

Below is the official list of SpanishVIP holidays recognized for the current calendar year.

On the dates specified in the table below:

• Private Classes will not be held.
  
• Group Classes will not operate.
  
• The Support Team will not be available.
  

These dates are part of SpanishVIP’s official operational calendar and do not qualify for subscription extensions, credits, or automatic rescheduling, as outlined in Section 10.1.

The holiday schedule reflects a combination of major United States federal holidays and select Colombian national holidays, in alignment with our operational structure.

9.4 Scheduled Downtime #

On rare occasions, SpanishVIP may schedule temporary service interruptions for:

• Technical improvements
• Platform maintenance
• Teacher training
• Curriculum development
• Team meetings
  

When scheduled downtime affects a student’s Private Class, SpanishVIP will offer either:

• A rescheduled session, or
• An equivalent alternative, subject to availability.

Scheduled downtime does not automatically extend the subscription period.

9.5 SpanishVIP December Holiday Break #

SpanishVIP observes an annual December Holiday Break, typically beginning around December 23 and extending into early January (approximately January 5). Exact dates may vary each year and will be confirmed and communicated in advance.

During this company-wide operational pause:

• Private Classes are not held.
  
• Group Classes are not conducted.
  

The December Holiday Break qualifies for a subscription extension. However, the extension applies strictly to the business days during which classes are not offered as part of this designated operational pause.

Official holidays that are already included in the annual holiday calendar are expressly excluded from this calculation and do not generate additional subscription extensions.

Students will always be notified in advance of the confirmed December Holiday Break dates to allow for appropriate planning and scheduling adjustments.
