09. Pauses and Cancellations (Group Classes)

9.1 Official Pause Policy #

SpanishVIP offers pause options to provide flexibility to students enrolled in longer-term programs, particularly 3-month and 6-month subscriptions

Subscriptions of one (1) month are generally not eligible for pauses, as they are short-term programs. In limited and exceptional situations, pause requests may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, subject to approval.

A pause must meet the following duration requirements:

  • Minimum duration: two (2) consecutive weeks
  • Maximum duration: six (6) consecutive months

If the maximum pause period of six (6) months is exceeded, the subscription will automatically reactivate, even if the student has not yet resumed classes, as this is the maximum pause duration allowed.

Please note that absences shorter than two weeks do not qualify as a pause. In such cases, the subscription remains active, and standard absence policies apply.

Note: Please be aware that promotional, discounted, or special offer packages are not eligible for a pause, regardless of duration.

9.1.2 Number of Allowed Official Pauses #

A minimum of one (1) month must pass between Official Pauses for them to be considered valid.

The maximum number of Official Pauses permitted per subscription is as follows:

  • 3-month plan: one (1) Official Pause
  • 6-month plan: two (2) Official Pauses

Unused pause allowances do not carry over to future subscriptions.

9.1.3 Official Pause Request Process #

To request a pause, students must:

  • Submit a request by email to support@spanishvip.com
  • Send the request at least one (1) business day before the intended start date of the pause

All requests are reviewed by the Student Success Team, who will confirm eligibility and provide next steps. Please note that communication with teachers does not constitute an official pause request.

9.1.4 Official Confirmation #

An Official Pause is considered valid only after the student receives a formal confirmation email from the Student Success Team. This confirmation will include:

  • The approved start date of the pause
  • The remaining time of the subscription period
  • Instructions for resuming classes

9.1.5 Holidays and Non-Instructional Days #

Official holidays and pre-announced non-instructional days are not included in pause calculations and do not result in subscription extensions or make-up classes.

These dates are communicated in advance and are governed by the Holiday Policy (see corresponding section).

9.1.6 Subscription Reactivation  #

Once a student is ready to resume classes after an Official Pause, has not exceeded the maximum pause period of six (6) months, and has remaining time on their subscription, the student must notify the Student Success Team by emailing support@spanishvip.com.

9.2 Cancellation of Subscription #

Group Class subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled in advance.

Students who wish to cancel their subscription must:

  • Submit their request at least three (3) business days before the renewal date
  • Contact support@spanishvip.com to ensure proper processing

While some students who purchased directly through the PunchPass platform may have access to self-managed cancellation options, not all subscription types include this functionality.

To ensure cancellation is properly recorded, contacting the Student Success Team directly is strongly recommended.

SpanishVIP does not require justification for cancellation. However, feedback may be requested to improve the student experience.

Failure to request cancellation before the renewal date may result in the next billing cycle being processed.
